Black & Gold was shot on the wonderful Applecross peninsula on the West Coast of Scotland. I don't think that I have ever seen an outcrop of land go so totally black - you can usually see some detail somewhere, but here the land sweeping round the bay was jet black. The evening light shimmering off of the water made a wonderful comparison. The small cut-out in the dark peninsula is actually where the road goes round, and the shot wouldn't work as well without it.
